We finally got back into the bus and stopped as Gulfoss. It is said that the first Icelandic environmentalist made her stand here decades ago when she threatened to throw herself into the falls if the waterfall was sold and used to harness energy.
It was very pretty, but damp as the water from the falls slapped your face and made you feel like you were showering.
Our final stop was the first settlement of the Icelandic parliament. In the past, men who were thought to be warlocks were burned at the stake The reason that it was men and not women, however, was because women never lived alone in Iceland (one of the typical characteristics of being a witch) because the environment was too harsh. Thus, men who lived alone were targeted and killed. Yay!
We finally headed back into Reykjavik and disembarked in front of our apartment. Before settling back into our apartment and spending way too much time blogging about everything, we went out onto the main shopping street to look for The Shoes. These will be discussed.
