First off, sorry this is late. It's been a busy couple of days. It's rather late, so this post will probably be quite picture heavy. There was a buffet breakfast at the hotel we stayed in for our first night in London. It was a pretty solid breakfast, but the best part was that there was a whole bowl of little nutella packets.
We may have gotten a bit carried away...
After breakfast, we took a cab to our house, which was much less exciting than the first one. We were, however, constantly surprised and/or concerned to see the drivers of neighboring cars reading, staring out the window absentmindedly, or even gone altogether. Then we would remember that they are simply on the wrong side of the car. Weirdos. Anyways, we made it to our apartment early, so we interrupted our hosts, Eleanor and John, in the process of cleaning. They are absolutely darling people and we still can't get over how cute they are :) Then, to give them time to finish cleaning, we went to the park near our townhouse and went on the swings before figuring out how to get to the nearest tube station. Upon returning to our house and saying goodbye to our hosts, they informed us that the only time teenagers or older people go on swings is when they're high, which is just great.
We then went out to explore London, which is an absolutely beautiful city. We should steal their architects, because wow:
That night, we went to Shakespeare's Globe theater to watch The Tempest, with Colin Morgan of BBC's Merlin playing Ariel (he's the one we care the most about, yay fandoms).
We had the cheap standing tickets, so our feet were killing us by the end, but it was very good and absolutely hilarious. Also overtly sexual, moreso than we expected.
On the way home, we saw this cool street art of a thing:
And that's about it. We made it to our apartment safely even though Nick, having lost a contact, was half-blind. It was a good day :)
